5th December… volunteers needed to decorate the hall for Christmas celebrations! Please let the office know if you are able to help.
11th December- WinterFest. £4.00 per family. All welcome. Spread the word within the community. It’s open to all, especially families, who are thinking of joining the school next academic year.
Please note that all performances are restricted to 2 adults per child due to fire regulations in the school hall.
Trackit certificate winners
Well done to all of our Trackit winners this week. You’ve worked hard to earn your points this term. Keep up the good work!
School Disco: £495 raised!
The children had so much fun at the Be Bright disco and loved showing off their dance moves! In total we raised £495, which is amazing! Thank you to the PTA for organising this and to the staff, who supervised the children. It’s a big ask to stay until 6pm on a Friday, but our team always go the extra mile for our pupils! The proceeds will go towards funding the climbing wall, that the children so desperately want.
Mud kitchen donations
Thank you for all the donations so far. If you would like to donate some items to the mud kitchen, we would be extremely grateful. This is an area that a lot of children use. Please pop donations into the office. We are still looking for brooms, dust pan and brushes, bowls, saucepans and herbs.
Snow procedures
We will do all that we can to remain open during periods of snow. A message to parents will be sent by 8:15am to notify you if the school will be open. This will also appear as a pop up on the website.
Santa run
During the week beginning the 2nd December, the pupils will be completing the Santa run within their PE lesson. Your child is invited to wear a Santa hat or hair band, with full PE kits.
Personal deveLopment
Online safety
Following on from Anti-bullying week, our personal development journey continued with The 2 Johns delivering Online Safety lessons to parents, staff and pupils. The online world is progressing at a rate which is often hard to keep up with. Do try to keep up to date by following The 2 Johns on social media.
Road Safety
Mr White led an assembly on Road Safety. As the nights draw in, please do ensure that you and your child can be seen by wearing reflective or bright clothing. While crossing the road, remind them of how to keep safe. Practice crossing the road to build confidence for when they start to go out alone.
Choir
The choir also rehearsed some Christmas songs in assembly. It was lovely to see in the start of our Christmas celebrations.
Parent code of conduct
Please refrain from using mobile phones on site. The school grounds are a phone free zone, due to safeguarding reasons. Please respect this.
When talking to staff, please ensure you are kind and respectful. We promote these values with our pupils in school and ask that parents model these too. Staff are always willing to discuss any concerns, but please be aware that meetings should be booked in advance.
Attendance
Attendance matters: please ensure your child is in school every day. If you are unsure whether to keep your child off school, please refer to the NHS guidance. As a school we are aiming for 96%!
Classes reaching over 96% this week: 4JW, 5EM and 6JC. Well done!
Trips
We had a brilliant time at The Tower of London, building up our historical and cultural understanding.
We had a fantastic day at The Globe and seeing the sites of London. The children’s acting skills were amazing. We even managed to see some art after lunch at The Tate Modern.
EYFS trip to post their letters to Santa
Their first trip out of school! I wonder what they wished for?
School Tours
If your child is due to start school in September, please do call the office to book your place on a school tour. 01268 697181. Winterfest is our open evening.
In the spotlight this week…
Anti-bullying ambassadors! Our anti-bullying ambassadors have been presented with their new red and blue ties this week. Red means stop and that’s why that colour has been chosen. Their ties will be on loan for the rest of the school year.
Reading volunteers
Reading volunteers! If you would like to become a reading volunteer, please drop into the school office.
School uniform reminders
School uniform is very important. It unites us as a team. Please ensure that your child is wearing correct uniform. Ties from KS1 are a statutory part of the uniform. Plain black shoes only. Hair accessories should be blue or yellow. Full school PE kit should be worn on PE days. Jewellery should not be worn on PE days. Only studs should be worn to school on non PE days. No hooped earrings or bracelets please.
Donate a Christmas jumper
If you have any Christmas jumpers at home that no longer fit, please do bring these in. We will then donate them to children who need them. Please bring them in by the end of next week.
Neasden Temple visit 2.0
Due to this trip being hugely popular and successful, we have added another date. The trip will be on the 26th June. Please book your child’s space via School Comms.
Have a wonderful weekend with your families.
